WaterJet Safety Precautions

WaterJet Safety Test

After reading the WaterJet Safety document and other related materials on the page, click here to take the Flow WaterJet Safety test.


Notes:

• The test results and password will be send to your email account.
• This safety test will have to be renewed on an annual basis.
• It is a honor code violation to give out the password you received upon passing the Flow WaterJet Safety test.
• You must sign out of the computer once you are done.
• The password will be changed every couple months.
• If you need a new Password, please click here, you need to be current on the Flow WaterJet Safety test to receive a new password.

Best Operating Practices

• Read all safety documentations!
• Report all injuries!
• Make sure to use eye protection and hearing protection when using the machine.
• Read and follow the FlowCut & FlowPath Quick Start Guides.
• Never reach over the splash shield while the machine is in motion.
• Make sure that the Z-axis has been homed, along with the X & Y axes!
• Press the Space Bar, then turn off the pump if you need to stop the cutting process.
• If you need to stop the machine while it is running the homing procedure, press the Emergency Stop button.
  • The Esc key also works, but it is safer to press the Emergency Stop button.
• If there is an immediate need to stop the machine, press the Emergency Stop button.
• Always keeping the WaterJet and the surrounding area free of debris.
• The yellow nozzle skirt must always be in place when the machine is cutting.
• Make sure that there are NO Z-Negatives moves in the FlowCUT software.
• Never move the nozzle down onto the Z-setting gauge, follow the procedure in the FlowCut Quick Start Guide.
• Use enough clamps to keep the material secure to the cutting slats.
• Place the splash shields up in position before cutting.
• Never leave the machine while it is cutting.
• Send the Z-axis to its home position before turning off the power.
